New Zealand selectors have nominated one combination to represent New Zealand in the five year old division at the World Championship for Young Horses Championships in Ermelo (NED) from  4 - 8 September 2024.

Originally from Kaukapakapa in North Auckland, Holly has been based in Germany since 2018 at McLean Reitsport, owned and operated by Australian Grand Prix rider Warwick McLean and his Finnish wife Carolina.

Easy W is a German Hanoverian by Escolar x Soleil du Soir.

Easy W came to the McLean stable in 2022 as a three-year-old for starting under saddle. This is when Holly  first started working with him, teaching him the basics and riding him the first times bareback in the stable.

“He is a very big horse with a cheeky personality” says Holly. “Last year I took him to his first shows in the young horse classes in Germany and he was successful from the beginning because of his natural quality. Now we are looking forward to showing our development in training and competing at Ermelo in September! It is very special and a privilege to be representing New Zealand in this world championship event. I would like to thank my employer Warwick and Carolina McLean, team at McLean Reitsport, and Easy W’s owners and breeders Peter & Brigitte Werle, for the opportunities and support here in Germany”

Owner Brigitte Werle believes the combination will represent NZL well. “We are very proud that Holly (Moorman) will be presenting our horse Easy W at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses. We are also particularly proud of the fact that the horse comes from our own breeding programme. Together with the McLean training stable and the rider Holly, the horse has enjoyed solid basic training and will certainly represent the New Zealand flag very well. We wish the couple lots of success at the World Championships!”
