Equestrian enthusiasts can hardly wait for the moment when the judges’ bells ring again in the castle park of Donaueschingen for the International S.D. Fürst Joachim zu Fürstenberg Memorial Tournament.

The CHI Donaueschingen is considered a classic in international equestrian sports. Since 1954, the beautiful Fürstlich Fürstenberg Castle Park has hosted top-class competitions in the three disciplines of jumping, dressage, and driving.

70th Anniversary

Unique Atmosphere at the Donaueschingen Equestrian Grounds

In addition to the jumping and driving competitions, this year’s event will feature thrilling contests on the newly established dressage arena. From Thursday to Sunday, riders will showcase their skills with both seasoned dressage stars and their best young horses. A special highlight is the qualification for the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal Final, which will take place from December 18-22 as part of the International Festhallen Equestrian Tournament in Frankfurt. “I am very pleased that we can organize the CHI

Action-Packed Sports Program

Thursday begins with the final of the Gert Gussmanns Cup for 4-year-old dressage horses, followed by the Prix St. Georges, the CDI4* Grand Prix Special Tour, and ends with the preliminary round of the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal. In addition to the dressage, a grand parade through the town of Donaueschingen will take place, and the Baden- Württemberg Horse Breeding Association will showcase its breeding – rounded off by a big rider party.

Friday starts with the preliminary round for the iWest Dressage Cup Final. Alongside the preliminary round for the Piaff Promotion Prize and the CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle Tour, the foals of the DSP Foal Auction will be presented. After the sporting events, the evening will feature the grand anniversary gala presented by Sparkasse Schwarzwald- Baar, offering a journey through the tournament’s history combined with a varied show program.

On Saturday, in addition to the CDI1* Tour and the Grand Prix Special, two more highlights are on the agenda: the final qualification for the iWest Dressage Cup and the final qualification for the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal. In the evening, the DSP Foal Auction will attract with selected young talents for the big sport. And for those who want to turn night into day, the Donaueschingen city center is the place to be: The music night offers great entertainment, and CHI visitors receive discounted admission at the evening box offices.

The grand final day on Sunday offers top-level dressage sport with the Grand Prix Freestyle and the Piaff Promotion Prize Final, concluding the four-day sporting birthday celebration. And to not only provide a stage for established dressage stars but also to promote the talent of tomorrow, our youngest participants can qualify for the big final in the Frankfurt Festhalle at the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal Lead Rein Competition, while juniors can demonstrate their skills in the large arena at the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal of Baden-Württemberg Juniors.
