Filly Kamar's Brexit and colt Terpling's Dream-Star were named the champions of the 2024 Danish Warmblood Foal Championship in Vilhelmsborg on 31 August 2024.
The DWB Foal Championship annually takes place during the elite mare show. At each regional foal inspection the two best fillies and two best colts were invited to the Nationals. The judges in Vilhelmsborg were Vicky Nortvig, Jens Søgaard and Rune Willum.
Out of a group of 15 fillies they selected five for the final championship ring. Particularly the offspring by Benicio did particularly well as both Bonds and Baron had three foals each in that group of 15.
Kamar's Brexit (by by Bonds x Escolar) earned the Filly Champion's title. She is bred and owned by Morten Kappel Petersen. "It was a difficult decision to choose a winner with such high quality in the final, but we have chosen the filly who has been working fantastically well already at the foal show and again here today," said Vicky Nortvig.
In the colt division there were 14 finalists with sires Dynamic Dream, Glamourdale and Vitalis each represented by two sons. The champion was Terpling's Dream-Star (by Dream Royal x Falstaff), bred by Heima Poulson. "It is an incredibly well-functioning foal that appears very expressive and has a killer type. He arches his neck nicely and uses his topline with great flexibility when he moves," said Vicky Nortvig.
