On the traditional third Tuesday of September, Foal Auction Prinsjesdag will auction an impressive collection of 85 dressage and jumping foals in Ermelo. On Tuesday 17 September, the entire collection will come under the hammer of Koen Olaerts and bidding is possible both on site and online. Compiled by Cas van der Oord and Lauw van Vliet (dressage) and Willem van Hoof and Bob Janssens (jumping) respectively, the collection is steeped in performance genes and the Paris Olympics are also a striking theme.
39 dressage foals and 45 jumping foals have been selected for the annual Foal Auction Prinsjesdag in recent months. In the dressage direction, one can count on outstanding models and lots of movement talent. But also genetically, some very interesting foals are passing by.
Full brother Hermès N.O.P.
Take, for example, the colt Unlimited Game; none other than the full brother of Dinja van Liere's Hermès N.O.P. At the Olympic Games in Paris, the bronze medalist of the World Championships in Herning achieved one of the highlights of his career. Ridden by Dinja van Liere, the Easy Game son scored a whopping 88.432 percent in the Freestyle to Music, putting Van Liere and Hermès N.O.P. spectacularly fourth in the individual competition - narrowly missing out on the podium.
Another impressive colt, for example, is Ultravox - a son of Fynch Hatton out of the half-sister of hallmark stallion Ampère. Also not to be forgotten is Undercover W - a son of Dante Weltino, who both competed in Paris and saw his son Jagerbomb finish eighth individually. In addition, Undercover W's dam performed at Grand Prix level.
Striking fillies dressage
For the lover of fillies in dressage breeding, Foal Auction Prinsjesdag also had a generous selection. Consider, for example, Usina van ‘t Studutch, a daughter of Blue Hors Romanov out of the full sister of For Romance I and many more. Or Ulymbria L - an Escamillo daughter out of the half-sister of Grand Prix stallion Blue Hors Don Olymbrio. Furthermore, the striking Kjento daughter Upwood Tarpania - a half-sister to the licensed stallions Dutch Dream and Kingsley Tarpania.
Olympic stallions in jumping section
In the showjumping collection, Olympic stallions Ermitage Kalone and Uricas van de Kattevennen are also generously represented. Ermitage Kalone shows up with no fewer than two daughters and three sons, while Uricas presents three daughters and a son. Notable ones include Upgrade Leva WD - a Uricas filly out of the half-sister of Hernandez TN N.O.P. Or Eleanor JT Z - a daughter of Ermitage Kalone who goes back to the top damline of Narcotique de Muze II.
Filly out of Kirby de Muze - sister of Nimrod & Levis
Many more interesting fillies are included in the collection. Take for instance Usha van ‘t Reevediep; a beautifully modelled filly by the world-famous Mylord Carthago out of the excellent damline of Usha van ’t Roosakker. She goes via Echo van ‘t Spieveld, Spartacus TN and For Pleasure back to the 1.60m jumping mare Electra van ’t Roosakker. Another excellent filly is Jenny KCX Berghoeve Z. This daughter of the championship horse Jaguar van de Berghoeve (Emerald out of the sister of Mylord Carthago and Bamako de Muze) is bred directly out of top-class mare Kirby de Muze. With Marit Skollerud Cox, Kirby jumped up to 1.50m-level and she is the half-sister of Pedro Veniss' Olympic showjumper Nimrod de Muze and Ioli Mytilineou's jumping phenomenon Levis de Muze.
