Youngster Supernova and foal For Diamond sold for six-figure amounts as the price highlights of the 2024 Oldenburg Autumn Elite Auction in Vechta, Germany on Saturday 5 October 2024.
A collection of 70 young sport horses and foals was offered for sale in the newly renovated Vechta Horse Center, which was packed with an enthusiastic crowd.
Six Figures
The top seller of the auction was the 4-year old mare Supernova (by San Amour x Hotline) which sold to Marta Pena's Equium Team in Spain for 300,000 euro. The black mare is a half-sister to Grand Prix horse Ferrari OLD (by Foundation - ridden by Rudolf Widmann).
The second most expensive horse was a foal, the colt For Diamond (by For Romance x Diamond Hit). Bred by Rolf-Peter Schulze, he sold for the auction year record price of 181,000 euro to new American clients and stallion station Bachl. For Diamond's full brother is Fiorissimo, who sold for 81,000 euro to Canadian Vicky Lavoie at the 2022 Oldenburg Elite Foal Auction.
Global Interest
The most expensive jumper was the 4-year old Hickstead's Lady (by Hickstead White x Sandokan), which sold for 85,000 euro.
Two horses sold for 52,000 euro: For Me (by Freiherr von Stein x Rittersport) and the 7-year old Brunetti (by Buckingham x Furst Romancier). For Me moves to Korea, Brunetti to Hungary.
The 9-year old Quantino Gold (by Quantensprung x Samarant) will also go to the same Hungarian stable as Brunetti. He sold for 42,000 euro, just like the 4-year old mare Undercover (by La Vier x De Niro), who will be the ride for a 17-year old junior rider from the Oldenburg area.
An 18-year old German junior rider from Ulm invested in young horse stock and acquired Dame Qui Danse (by Devonport x Totilas) for 31,500 €
A Brit bought Dancier's Diamond (by Dancier Gold x Royal Diamond) for 26,000 euro, a Spaniard bought Strasser Z (by So Perfect x Fidertanz) for 23,000 euro, an American acquired Dancing Queen (by Diamond First x Apache) for 18,000 euro.
A Saudi bought Maestro HTC (by Maracana x Sarkozy) for 15,500 euro. Also going to Saudi Arabia is foal Dornroschen (by Dream Royal x Florencio) for 8,00 euro.
Pricey Foals
Another foal sold for a very high price: Diplomatico De Fontaine (by Dynamic Dream out of Isabell Werth's Olympic silver medal winning horse Wendy (by Sezuan)). The bay colt sold for 39,000 euro to the U.S.A.
Three foals sold to Canada: colt Estefan (by Excalibur x De Niro) for 28,000 euro, Sansibar (by Sebastino PS x De Niro) for 16,000 euro, and Kyano (by Kjento x Benefit) for 15,500 euro.
Belladonna HL (by Bon Bolero x Lord of Loxley) went for 18,500 euro, Egalite (by Va Bene x Sir Donnerhall) goes to Britain for 17,500 euro.
Italians bought Florina Feingold (by Federer x Bordeaux) for 16,500 euro. St Gotthard (by St. Emilion x Zackerey) fetched 15,500 euro.
Ghostwrighter (by Global Player x Vitalis) found a new owner for 14,000 euro, Bon Sidon (by Bon Courage x Sir Donnerhall) for 13,000 euro, while Donna Bolera (by Bon Bolero x Don Crusador) and Federleicht (by Federer x Sporcken) both sold for 12,000 euro.
Fabulous Dance (by Federer x For Dance) fetched 11,000 euro and El Torro (by Escamillo x Sir Donnerhall) and Esperanza (by Escaneno x Indian Rock) had a hammer price of 10,000 euro.
Belgians bought Five Star (by Federer x For Dance) and the Belgian bred Vintage Vixem Ballante (by V-Power x Sandro Hit) for 7,500 euro. Valerian (by Va Bene x Sarkozy) also goes to Belgium for 6,000 euro.
Dutch horse dealer Rom Vermunt bought HP Van Dango (by Vitalis x Sandro Hit) for 6,500 euro and Entertainer (by Escanto PS x Sir Donnerhall) and Elfendream (by Dynamic Dream x Fürst Romancier) for 5,500 €.
The average price for a sport horse in this auction was 36,250 euro; the average price for a foal was 16,308 euro.
