Oldenburg elite foals are in demand worldwide. The 27th Elite Foal Auction at the Oldenburg Horse Centre in Vechta achieved a record-breaking result. The chestnut colt It's me (by Ibiza - De Niro - Florencio I) triumphed as the top priced foal.
With a knock-down price of 154,000 euro, the stunning mover, bred by Ewald Grotelüschen, sold to a consortium of stallion owners including Lone Boegh Henriksen, Paul Schockemöhle, and Andreas Helgstrand. It's Me's dam Elfenperle excelled at the Bundeschampionat and in the Brillantring. The dam line of the Elfenblume family produced the stallions Depardieu and De Vito as well as True Love OLD/Matthias Alexander Rath, who is successful in the advanced level.
It's Me's 154,000 euro sales price is not the auction record. In 2012 Ann-Kathrin Linsenhoff purchased Total Recall, from Totilas' first crop of foals in Germany, for 200,000 euro. At the Hanoverian society in Verden, the foal auction record is 160,000 euro for Be My Beauty Queen, also bought by Lone Boegh Henriksen.
Fiorissimo (by For Romance I - Diamond Hit - Landadel), bred by Dr. Rolf-Peter Schulze, was the second most expensive foal in the collection. For 81,000 euro, the beautiful dancer changed hands to Canadian Grand Prix rider Vicky Lavoie of Nexolia farm. His dam Diamond Lady is sister to the licensed Lord of Loxley (by Lord Sinclair - formerly competed at GP level by Hans Peter Minderhoud), NED, and she already delivered two top priced foals: 2016 Floral Hit (by Florenz) and 2017 For Austria (by For Romance I).
Dressage Sales Manager Thomas Rhinow and Daniel Pophanken had glowing phone lines at the dressage lot: "The strong-moving, modern movers magically attracted customers worldwide."
Third top price was paid for the filly Flanell (by Fynch Hatton - Indian Rock - Fürst Romancier), bred by Heinrich Gerriets. For 55,000 euro, the prima ballerina from the renowned line of Große Liebe sold to a world-renowned dressage stable in Great Britain. Brits also bought fontane (by For Romance x Bordeaux) for 44,000 euro.
Polish customers bought Mai Tai (by Morricone x San Amour) for 45,250 euro
Standing Ovation (by San Amour x De Niro) found a new owner in Portugal for 41,000 euro.
Among the show jumpers, the charming Cleveland (by Comme il faut - Diarado - Colbert), bred by Bernd Kröger, sold for 31,000 euro
Auctioneer Thorsten Castle was thrilled by the euphoria of the bidders in the festive auction hall as well as by the online activities.
