Mares Sell for Top Prices in 2024 Hanoverian Autumn Elite Auction

The 3-year old Sunshine became the price highlight of the 2024 Hanoverian Autumn Elite auction in Verden on 12 October 2024. 

A collection of no less than 89 horses and foals was offered for sale. 

The chestnut mare Sunshine (by Secret x Royal Blend) became the best seller, finding a new owner for 150,000 euro. A tough bidding duel took place with an American online bidder, but in the end the horse sold to French Marine Faust and co-investers. Sunshine is bred and owned by Anneli Brunckhorst. 

The 3-year old mare Total Happy H (by Total Hope x Sezuan) was the second most expensive horse. The black mare sold for 105,000 euro to Owners Group T-Happy and will move to Bernadette Brune’s Gestut Brune.

Mares were certainly most wanted in Verden as also the third highest price was paid for a mare. The 3-year old Violetta (by V-Plus x Light and Easy) sold for 96,000 euro to the U.S.A.

The 4-year old gelding Von Otto S (by Valdiviani x St. Schufro) sold to Canada for 92,000 euro. 

The most expensive jumper was Continue H (by Conthargos x Stakkato) who sold for 90,000  euro to Ireland. The same price was paid for the 3-year old mare Vajana (by Von Und Zu x Dancier). 

The 6-year old mare Beste Deern (by Borsalino x Dauphin) sold for 75,000 euro, while gelding Quandillo (by Quantensprung x Frienship) fetched 70,000 euro. Both move to Portugal.

A Belgian bought the gelding Sukkari (by Secret x Benicio) for 65,000 euro.  Emilio VR (by Escamillo x Furst Heinrich) went for 50,000 euro.

Brits bought Santorin (by Secret x Dancier) for 45,000 euro.  Frenchmen bought Luds T (by Livaldon x Weltruhm) for 40,000 euro  and Gaya H (by Global Player x De Niro) for 22,500 euro. A Swiss got Sandmann (by So Perfect x Totilas) for 37,000 euro.  An American acquired So In Love K (by Sezuan x Donnerhall) for 40,000 euro. A Czech paid 24,000 euro for Uups (by Uphill x Florestan).

An Austrian paid 23,000 euro for Zafira (by Zackerey x For Romance) and 16,000 euro for Voice (by V-Plus x Dancier). Vanuata (by Van Gogh x Acorado) goes to Portugal for 15,500 euro. Total Honey (by Total Hope x Don Crusador) goes to Denmark for 11,000 euro.

The most expensive foal in the collection was colt Excalidor (by Excalibur x Londontime), which sold for 24,000 euro.

Colt Vivi Il Momento (by Venturo x Scolari) sold for 12,500 euro. Even (by Escamillo x Dimaggio) went for 12,000 euro. 

Bellini (by Bonds x De Niro) sold for 10,500 euro. The chestnut colt Timberland (by Total Diamond PS x Vivaldi) goes to Spain for 7,000 euro. Dark Romance G (by Dynamic Dream x For Romance II) moves to Sweden for 6,000 euro.

A Swiss bought Fantastique Dream MS (by For Romance x Dancier) for 6,000 euro and Vridolin (by V-Power x Finnigan) for 5,000 euro.

Giulietta (by Global Hope x Vivaldi) goes to Holland for 8,000 euro. An Italian secured Quibelle (by Quintessential x De Niro) for 6,500 euro. A Hungarian got Ed Sheeran (by Escamillo x Le Formidable) for 4,500 euro.

Elegant H (by Escaneno x Bon Bravour) and Solitär (by Shu Fu x Don Index) relocate to Belgium for 8,750 euro and 5,750 euro. Elegant H sold to JGilles Botton and his wife Jessica Michel. 

The average price for a young sport horse in this auction was 39,184 euro.  A foal cost 7,741 euro.
