From Juniors to Grand Prix
The chestnut was originally sourced as a 6-year old at Arnold Winter's yard in Germany by Aniko Losonczy and Robert Acs for their then-pony student Berill Szoke Toth.
Acs took on the ride, competed Qatar at the 2015 Bundeschampionate, and prepared him as a junior horse for Berill. She premiered him in the junior division in Mariakalnok in 2016. In 2018 Berill moved permanently to Germany and trained the horse to Grand Prix level.
Berill competed Qatar at international Under 25 level from 2020 till 2023 and represented Hungary at the 2021 European Under 25 Championships in Hagen. In 2024 Berill's life partner, Spaniard Gonzalo Castillo Arroya, campaigned Qatar at CDI's in Le Mans, Troisdorf and Hagen, to gain experience and mileage at international Grand Prix level.
Qatar Goes to Qatar
and Gonzala Castillo Arroyo
The Qatari rider has found a new passion in dressage after having made the switch from show jumping. She has been getting her feet wet in dressage at national shows in her country aboard Saligaskar (by Gopak x Gazavat xx).
Asma is currently training with Brazilian paralympian Rodolpho Riskalla at Sudenhof in Hagen, Germany. Riskalla took her to Arroyo's barn in Duisburg, where Asma bonded straight away with Qatar.
Asma acquired the gelding as her 2025 FEI Asian Championships hopeful and with future sights set on the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.
