Great Lady TC, a double World Young Horse Championship participant under Jeanine Nieuwenhuis, has jumped the puddle for a new career in the U.S.A.

Great Lady TC is a 14-year old Dutch warmblood mare by Bretton Woods out of Tiffany's Monday (by Osmium x Dior). She is bred by Tim Coomans.

Oirignally owned by the breeder, the bay mare was produced to Grand Prix level by Jeanine Nieuwenhuis.

The elite IBOP tested mare first came in the spotlight by winning the national 2016 Horsefood Talent competition. That year she was selected on the Dutch tea for the 2016 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo, where she finished 13th in the 5-year old finals after winning the consolation class. A year later she returned to the WCYH in Ermelo and placed 13th again in the 6-year old finals after finishing second in the consolation. She won the 2017 Pavo Cup Finals.

Great Lady returned to the CDI ring two years later for one show in Exloo 2019 at small tour level. She won all three classes. In 2020 a part of the ownership sold to Erwin Reijnders to secure the ride for Nieuwenhuis in the future. After another three-year break from CDI showing she returned at the CDI Ermelo in 2022 at big tour level. She scored 62.435% in her first international Grand Prix. It was her last CDI since in three years.

U25 Schoolmaster for Vaulter Gone Dressage

Great Lady TC sold in October 2024 to Carolyn Bland for Haley Smith to ride.

The 24-year old Smith made her international show debut in Vaulting in 2015 and competed at the 2016 World Vaulting Championships in Le Mans, where she was 11th in the pas de deux. Two years later at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, she was 6th in the Pas de Deux. At the 2019 World Cup Vaulting Final in Saumur she was second. Her last vaulting competition was in 2021 in Budapest.

Haley switched to dressage in 2022 and debuted at the CDI Thermal at small tour level aboard Tailormade Ambition (DWB, by Ampere x Lorentin). The pair did one international. Three years later Smith premiered Great Lady TC in the Under 25 division at the CDI Thermal on the first week of January 2025. As sole competitors in the class they won two blue ribbons. They posted 61.059% in the Inter II and 60.539% in the short Grand Prix.

"I didn’t know what to expect, bringing Gigi to our first competition together after such a short period of time," Smith took to Facebook. "After her arrival date on November 26th, I made a game plan to grow and build a connection with her to hopefully kick off the 2025 season in the U25 Grand Prix. As I felt she would from the first day I ever sat on her, she rose to the occasion more than I could have ever imagined! She said, hold on, I got this!"

Smith trains with Steffen and Shannon Peters. She works as a trainer at Arroyo del Mar. In 2023 she did an internship at Blue Hors in Denmark.
