Grete Ayache's Farao da Raia Sold to Thailand

Grete Ayache's internationally competed Grand Prix horse Farao da Raia has been sold into Thai ownership. The gelding moved to their base in Belgium.

Farao da Raia is a 15-year old Lusitano by Quixote out of Xaqiera (by Rei). He is bred by Carlos Cunha Neto in Portugal.

The horse came into the international spotlight under French based Estonian rider Grete Ayache (née Puvi, formerly Barake). He is listed as owned by Grete in partnership with her ex-husband Karim Barake.

They debuted at the CDI Nice in February 2019 to a 63.783% Grand Prix score and went to Ornago, Pilisjaszfalu, Mariakalnok, and Brno before representing Estonia at the 2019 European Championships in Rotterdam, where they were 65th in the Grand Prix with 60.683%

After that the pair competed sparingly internationally with a few starts in Nice, Le Mans, Ornago, Compiegne until going full throttle again in 2922 with shows in Le Mans, Lipica, Ornago and Brno, winning four classes, before making it to the 2022 World Championships in Herning, where they were 70th with 67.236%

In 2023 they campaigned in Ornago, Aachen, Compiegne, Lipica, Brno, Pilisjaszfalu, and Crozet before heading to the 2023 Europeans in Riesenbeck, where they finished 54th with 67.158%

Grete only showed Farao once internationally in Ornago in March 2024

Vuntanadit Family

Dressprod reported that the bay gelding has been sold to the Belgian based Thai Vuntanadit family, whose daughters Pammy and Patty compete internationally.

"Been so nice spending our winter days getting to know our newest member of the family, Farao Da Raia," said Pammy. "The last few months have been full of new experiences as we form our partnership and we can't wait to see what the future will bring with this special horse."

Suphakamol "Pammy" Vuntanadit made her international show debut in 2017 as a Young Rider on Hermes (by Hochadel x Lauries Crusador xx). In 2021 she began competing Dreamboat (by Voice x Metall) at Under 25 Grand Prix level and as of 2023 added Quadroneur (by Quaterback x Sandro Hit) to her string. 

For Asian riders the season highlight this year will the 2025 FEI Asian Championships, hosted in Pattaya, Thailand, at the end of November.
