The German national Grand Prix mare Die Baroness has moved to Austria to become part of the string of horses for Austrian Under 25 rider Paul Jöbstl.
Die Baroness is an 11-year old Hanoverian mare by Danciano de Malleret out of Snoopje (by Sir Donnerhall x Friedensfurst x Grundstein). She is bred by Andreas Middelkampf and was owned by Gestüt Westfalenhof.
Kathrin Sudhölter
The mare was trained and competed up to Grand Prix level by Kathrin Sudhölter.
She debuted the mare in the early summer of 2019 in the A-level tests and Bundschampionate qualifiers. They moved up to M-level in 2020 and by 2021 they were doing small tour tests, mainly at regional competitions.
The pair'st first S***-level test was in 2023 and in 2024 the duo competed at a string of national Grand Prix classes at shows in Ankum, Munster, Norten-Hardenberg, Hof Bettenrode, etc.
Austria
Die Baroness has now been sold to Austria for Paul Jöbstl to ride. Paul announced the news on his Instagram.
"I am looking forward to the future with this talented mare," stated Paul, who has been competing Elastico at U25 level since 2023. The pair finished 13th in the Kur at the 2024 European Under 25 Championships in St. Margarethen.
This is the second top horse that left Sudhölter in a short period of time after. Viva Gold moved to Isabell Werth.
