Dutch Selection Process for 2025 World Young Horse Championships Announced

The KWPN society and Dutch Equestrian federation have decided on the selection process for the 2025 World Young Horse Championships. 

After a cycle of being hosted in Ermelo (NED), the WCYH return to Verden (GER) for 2025 through 2027.

The Dutch team selection will be carried out by Johan Hamminga, Alex van Silfhout, and Janine van Twist. All horses registered in a Dutch approved and WBFSH affiliated studbook are eligible for Dutch team selection.

Three selection days will take place in central The Netherlands: 

  • Houten - 22 - 23 April 2025: preliminary test ==> best 20 per age class get picked
  • Nunspeet - 20 - 21 May 2025: preliminary test - wild card horses need to do finals test ==> best 12 per age class move forward
  • Delft: 10 June 2025: Finals test ==> team announcement. 

A training camp for the team combinations will be held in July.

The 2025 WCYH take place on 4 - 10 August 2025.
