Micky Witte will be a big sister soon. Emmelie Scholtens is pregnant with her second child

Dutch Olympic team rider Emmelie Scholtens has announced that she and her husband Jeroen Witte are expecting their second child. "A little miracle is on the way. We are so looking forward to September 2025," Scholtens posted on social media. The couple are already parents to a daughter, Micky, who was born 7 February 2022.

After having competed Arie Yom Tov's PRE stallion Cingaro IV (by Embrujo VI x Presumido XXXVI) for one year, Roumanian dressage rider Daria Paliciuc has secured ownership over the horse. The grey stallion was first competed by Dana van Lierop at Grand Prix level and then served as a schoolmaster for three further riders at Under 25 level: Valeria Fernandez Palomino (ESP), Nomi Baro Arroyo (AND), and Paliciuc (ROM).

Joining Yom Tov's team of riders at Stable Unikornis in Pilisjaszfalu, Hungary, is the Croatian youth rider Kaya Probst, who has been riding in the U.K. for several years before returning home to Croatia. She now commutes between Zagreb and Budapest until May, when she hopes to graduate from high school.

Volker Wulff, director of equestrian sport marketing agency En Garde, and the German equestrian federation and the part ways for the management of the Bundeschampionate. En Garde managed the "BuCha" since 2011. The German FN will no take over the full show management. In 2024 Wulff's agency suffered a big blow when he saw the Hamburg Derby go into the hands of Matthias Rath's Schafhof Connects.

Helgstrand Dressage
In the night of 26 March 2025 a fire broke out in the laundry room at Helgstrand Dressage in Vodskov, Denmark. "Fortunately, the fire was quickly detected, and thanks to a well-functioning alarm system, the alarm was triggered at 3:38 a.m. The swift response from employees and emergency services meant that a potential disaster was averted. The damage was limited to material damage in the laundry room, as well as smoke damage in the adjacent equipment room." No horses nor employees were hurt.

Ridsport reported that Karin Levin Angergård and  Kent Angergård at the renowned Swedish pony stud farm K2 are closing shop. The couple is getting too old to do the daily management of the farm and has decided to slow down. Stuteri K2 is know for top sport pony breeding stallion Verona's Bo-Gi, Leuns Veld's Lord, and Jarno RP. The stallions will move to stud farm Turfhorst in The Netherlands and the farm will be sold. The couple will relocate to a smaller property and also spends time in Spain.

Welcome to the world: Lilly Marie Volpp
German dressage rider Lisa Volpp (née Maier, ex Horler) has given birth to a baby girl named Lilly Marie Volpp. The baby was born on 6 March 2025. This is a first child for Lisa and her husband Michael Volpp.

Horses.nl reported that several Dutch dressage people have been scammed by "Corina de J" including Dutch stallion owner Joop van Uytert who lost 500,000 euro in the scam.  According to Van Uytert's lawyer it was a pyramid scheme as Corina promised Van Uytert a 100,000 euro profit within 6 months. Corina allegedly scammed 1400 investors for 140 million euro through her companies  Best Choice, Airfeet BV en Xerof BV.

Renowned German freestyle composer Michael Erdmann passed away in December 2024 after a short period of illness. Erdmann was best known as the composer of Isabell Werth's freestyles, but he arranged music for pretty much all major international dressage riders, especially in Germany. He operated from his own study Exclusive Sound Suite in Dülmen (GER), but relied on the help of professional mixer Manni Struck and partner sound studios for the end product. He leaves behind his wife, para dressage rider Marina Erdmann, and son Gilles.

For U.S. Grand Prix rider Nick Wagman 2025 started in a great way as he legally married his partner Kurt Gering on 9 January 2025 even though the couple has been together 22 years and have been symbolically married for 20 when California did not recognize gay marriages as legitimate. 

Classical dressage trainer Bettina Drummond lost her more than four-year battle with metastatic breast cancer on 27 March 2025. She was 61 years old. Bettina described herself "a practicing Baucheriste trainer, following the tradition of the Portuguese Master Nuno Oliveira." Born in London but mainly raised in Paris, Bettina spent 17 years training with Oliveira in Portugal. She became a well known trainer in classical dressage circles, often teaching in the U.S.A. and at the Cadre Noir in Saumur. She founded APAHA (Association for the Protection of the Art of Horsemanship in America) and gave numerous demonstrations across the world, as well as made training DVDs.  A detailed biography can be found here.
