German professional dressage rider Lisa Horler has parted ways with husband Sebastian Horler and settled her own independent business at the horse dealing yard of Peter Thanner.
The 28-year old Horler (née Maier) began her competitive career as an 11-year old in 2005 on pony Celly (by Folklore x Galant).
International Career
She made her international show debut in 2013 as a young rider aboard Long Island Ice Tea (by Lauries Crusador xx x Montmartre) at the CDI Badenhausen. In 2014 she competed the horse in Stadl Paura, Hagen and Babenhausen. She also finished 8th at the 2014 German Young Riders Championships.
A five-year absence from international showing followed. She made a brief return in 2019 at Under 25 level with James Dean (by Jazz Rubin x Fidermark) after which the horse sold to Diana Porsche (and then Yumiko Hashiuchi in Japan).
Married to professional dressage rider Sebastian Horler and based at Gammertshof in Röttingen (GER), Lisa focused mainly on young horse training and competed at several Bundeschampionate. In 2021 she represented Germany at the World Young Horse Championships in Verden aboard Danny Cool (by Danciano x Sandro Hit), finishing 12th in the 6-year old finals. In 2022 she returned to the World YH Championships with the Austrian bred Get You the Moon (by Goldberg x San Amour) and finished 11th in the 6-year old finals. With this horse she was also 2021 Austrian Young Horse Champion. The bay sold to Great Britain.
Independence
Horler has now made the move to independence and set up shop at Peter Thanner's horse sales yard in Baden Wurttemberger, where Lisa's roots lie.
"From 1st of April on I have a corporation with PTS, the company of Peter Thanner," Lisa told Eurodressage. "I have (taken) some very interesting horses with me and I am looking forward to develop them to take place at competitions in their age group up to S*** and also at some young horse Championships."
