Ridely, the world’s leading equestrian training app, has launched the Horse Welfare Score — a first-of-its-kind, measurable and gamified welfare education app experience designed to close critical knowledge gaps in everyday horse care and welfare.
The initiative aims to educate a minimum of 50,000 riders in essential, evidence-based welfare practices. Partners include Equitation Science International, British Eventing, The Equine Documentalist, Corro, Equimade and other horse-first companies, welfare organizations, brands, experts and researchers.
“We realised we were perfectly positioned to make a real impact, ” says Ingrid Sundqvist, Ridely’s CEO and Founder. “With years of experience creating bite-sized, engaging content, we’ve now added gamification and measurability to make welfare education truly fun, accessible, and best of all - trackable. ”
The Horse Welfare Score gives riders the knowledge to make better, more informed decisions for their horses—covering topics such as pain recognition, the five domains, essential nutrition, hoof care, ethical training, tack fit and stress signals.
“Our vision is to unite brands that truly care about horse welfare—and are ready to show it through action, ” says Bee Strydom, Chief Growth Officer at Ridely. “Together, we’re creating a world where riders, schools, and organisations are educated, empowered, and making welfare a daily priority. Educating 50,000 riders is just the start. ”
For welfare-conscious equestrian brands, it’s a chance to move beyond words—with real, measurable data that proves your commitment to education and meaningful impact.
Ridely is now inviting visionary partners—forward-thinking brands, federations, insurers, and welfare leaders. Together, we can drive systemic, lasting change in equine welfare by combining cutting-edge technology and education.
