Millie Cosgrave and Let’s Dance have withdrawn from the 2025 European Championship for Children in Le Mans this week.

The decision to withdraw from competition in France was made this afternoon on veterinary advice after consultation with team vet Tim O’Hagan and Horse Sport Ireland High Performance Dressage Manager Anne Marie Dunphy.

“Millie and Let’s Dance trained very well at Le Mans yesterday after arriving at the venue but unfortunately, the horse was not 100 per cent today and we decided the best decision for Let’s Dance was to withdraw,” said Dunphy.

“It’s terribly disappointing for Millie, especially at this late stage, to have to withdraw but Let’s Dance is her priority and we will always put the horse’s welfare to the forefront of any decision such as this. They have had a fantastic year with many FEI podium finishes and we look forward to seeing this exciting combination back in the arena doing what they do best very soon.

Kate Murphy and Top Hero 2 begin their Pony Championship with the team test on Thursday morning, and Dunphy added that Cosgrave will be cheering her teammate on.

“Millie is a brilliant representative for her country and an outstanding member of Team Ireland. She will be here to support Kate, as well as our eventers and show jumpers during the championships,” added Dunphy.
