The Austrian equestrian federation has nominated four riders for team selection for the European Dressage Championships in Crozet, France, on 26 - 31 August 2025.
The FEI's deadline for the nominative entries was on Thursday 24 July 2025, the same day the final observation trial (Grand Prix tests) at the CDI Achleiten in Austria took place.
Four riders have been nominatively selection for Austrian team selection but it is still unsure whether all four will be definitively named on the team. They are
- Florian Bacher - Fidertraum
- Bettina Kendlbacher - Broadmoars Don Alfredo
- Stefan Lehfellner - Roberto Carlos MT
- Victoria Max-Theurer - Abegglen and L'Espoir de Massa.
No fifth, potential reserve was nominated.
Austria's team manager and dressage expert Dr. Ursula Barth said, "These are the four pairs that, according to the criteria, are considered for the European Championship team." Before the CDI Achleiten Barth also added, "it's not yet 100% certain whether we'll be able to put together a team of four for the European Championships. That's why I really hope that the decision will be made at the competition in Achleiten."
To be considered for team selection, Austrian pairs had to achieve 2x 70% at a CDI 3* or higher (of their own choice) as well as compete in the mandatory CDI Achleiten on 24 - 27 July 2025.
In the Grand Prix tests in Achleiten, Victoria Max-Theurer scored 70% on Abegglen and 69.609% with L'Espoir de Massa. Florian Bacher scored 68.397%, Bettina Kendlbacher 68.109%, and Stefan Lehfellner 65.848%.
Max-Theurer and Bacher did not ride a second test with Abegglen/Fidertraum. Kendlbacher got 68.702% in the Special, while Lehfellner scored 63.234%.
