For the first time in history Cyprus has nominated two individual riders for a European Dressage Championships.
Cyprus made its historic debut at the 2023 Europeans in Riesenbeck with one individual pair: the now 58-year old, German born Gabriele Helena Kiefer (née Wirtz). She is commutes between Aachen and Berlin and is a long-time student of Renate Dahmen.
Kiefer, who declared for Cyprus in 2018, has been nominated for Crozet and will be joined by Russian born Maria Klementieva, who declared for Cyprus in 2024.
Klementieva, who resides in Dubai in winters and in Europe in summers, has been nominated on Gammelenggårds Zappa (by Zonik x Akinos).
The two have been nominatively entered and could represent a growing group of Cypriot dressage riders in equestrian sport.
