German professional dressage rider Tobias Nabben injured himself in a riding accident on 22 August 2025.
"I feel off a young horse yesterday and fractured two ribs," Nabben explained. "Therefore, in the next few weeks I'll be focusing more on the training of horses and riders from the ground. I'm doing well considering. It could have been worse."
Nabben was entered to compete in a national developing GP horse class at the 2025 CDN Turnier der Sieger on Sunday 24 August 2025 with Eva-Maria Kruse's 10-year old Hanoverian Forsten (by Finest x Boston). The pair had placed fourth in the warm-up Inter II on Friday with 72.053% but could not compete on Sunday because of the fall.
Nabben and Forster have had a very busy 2025 show season. Munster was their 13th national competition at Grand Prix level as a pair, of which two shows were Louisdor Cup qualifiers (Hagen, Wiesbaden). In 2024 the duo competed at 17 shows when Tobias moved Forster from small tour level up to Grand Prix.
Nabben's sport career is entirely focused on national competition in Germany. He runs a professional dressage stable Zur Linde in Bottrop-Birchellen.
