Thirteen colts were additionally accepted for the second phase of the 2026 KWPN Stallion Licensing at a special "late" pre-selection day on 23 December 2025.
Colts that couldn't make it to the normal first phase for various reasons, were offered the opportunity to present themselves in front of the licensing committee at this "late pre-selection".
A large group of colts was presented in Ermelo for this late pre-selection, 23 in total, and no less than 13 made the cut (compared to 20 presented last year and just 6 making the cut). This brings the total to 97 colts that will appear at the 2026 KWPN Stallion Licensing in 's Hertogenbosch at the start of February.
"We had hoped the late inspection would yield interesting stallions, and that's certainly the case," said committee chair Bart Bax. "We were able to select sons of several young stallions today and the colts we're bringing to 's-Hertogenbosch fit well with the collection we assembled on the regular days."
Bax continued, "five stallions we selected today have already been presented at German stallion licensings, and I think we have a nice, broad group with which we can continue our selection in 's-Hertogenbosch. The presentation started positively on hard surface today, and the 13 stallions also made a good impression during movement in freedom."
