British professional dressage rider Jezz Palmer had to say goodbye to his international small tour ride Ketcher B. The horse was put to sleep after a freak accident.

Ketcher B was an 11-year old Dutch warmblood by Negro out of Djoke B  (by Stedinger x De Niro). He was bred by Marcel Sterrenburg and AJBM Fievez.

From Holland to Great Britain

Bred at De Beukenvallei in Leende, The Netherlands, the black stallion was selected for the 2018 KWPN Stallion Licensing in 's Hertogenbosch, but not accepted for breeding with KWPN.

He sold to Great Britain through Rebecca Dudley to Emily Ivins. He was approved for breeding with the AES studbook.

He was first shown in the U.K. by Liz Diegutis in April 2019 before Ivins rode him herself at novice level through March 2020.

Jezz Palmer

Ivens put Ketcher B in training with Jezz Palmer and he debuted the stallion in the autumn of 2020. They finished 6th at the 2020 British Young Horse Championships.

In 2021 they won at the Winter Regional Championship and competed at Elementary level at the 2021 British Championships. In 2022 they won the Freestyle Music Medium British Winter Championship and were 7th in the British Young Horse Championships, while landing 6th place at Medium Level and 14th place at Advanced Medium Level at the British Nationals.

At the 2024 CDI Addington
Their international show debut was at small tour level at the 2023 CDI Hartpury. They also won the summer regional championship at PSG level. In 2024 they did one CDI in Addington, winning the Kur to Music, and won the Inter I at the Winter regionals. They won the Prix St Georges at the 2024 British Winter Championships

In 2025 they comped at the CDI's in Wellington Heckfield and Hartpury, showing in four tests and each time placing in the top five. They concluded the year with a 25th place in the Prix St Georges at the 2025 British Championships, their last show.

Untimely Passing

At the start of January Palmer and Ivins were forced to put Ketcher B to sleep after the stallion fractured his leg in a freak accident in the field.

"The yard is so quiet without you and my heart is broken," owner Emily Ivins stated. "I miss you making me laugh, you had the heart of a lion and when you loved you did it unconditionally. Your people were your people and we knew we were honoured to be in your presence. (..) I am so very sorry I could not have done more to save you I literally would have done anything to have more time together but we were together until your last breath and I hope you sleep well and know you were so so loved."
