In 2023 Polish Grand Prix team rider Beata Stremler won the Louisdor Cup Finals - the German Developing Grand Prix horse championships - aboard the Oldenburg mare Fürstin Bea. Since their glorious title in Frankfurt, where the mare was marked as one of the most talented up and coming Grand Prix horses, she has not been competed.

Where is she now?

Fürstin Bea OLD

The dark bay mare Fürstin Bea OLD is born in 2014 and is by Furstenball out of Gran Amour (by San Amour x Rubinstein x Feingau). She is bred at Stall Troff.

Her dam, state premium mare Gran Amour, is one of Troff's top broodmares, having also produced younger half siblings, Mr Lova Lova (by Morricone), as well as Grey Touch (by Grey Flanell) and Frontman Equesta (by For Romance I), who was briefly in training with Stremler, are her oldest offspring.

Grand dam Granada produced the licensed stallion Supremat OLD (by Sandro Hit), Grand Prix horse Duke Rubin (by Decamerone, GP under Juliette Piotrowski), and the German Junior/Young Rider team horse Summer Rose (by Sir Diamond, PSG under Romy Allard, who quit competition sport in 2023).

Fürstin Bea sold to Karsten Aberth as a young horse and he put her in training with German based Beata Stremler.

Sport Career

Stremler and Fürstin Bea made their show debut in June 2019 at A-level. They competed at five local shows that year.

Winning the 2023 Louisdor Cup Finals
In 2020 they competed in some Bundeschampionate qualifiers, winning in Bornheim with 8.0. They did not go to Warendorf. They also were selected to represent Poland at the 2020 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, but the event got cancelled because of Covid.

In 2021 the pair made its international debut by representing Poland at the World Young Horse Championships in Verden, where they finished 5th in the consolation finals.

There were no shows in 2022, but in 2023 the combination made its big break through by competing in the developing Grand Prix horse classes, starting with an Inter II test in Bielefeld, from which they retired, but two weeks later there were 69.9 and 71.00% scores in the S*** in Haftenkamp. They competed in the Louisdor Cup qualifier in Balve, where they were second, as well as in Kronberg. At the 2023 Louisdor Cup Finals in Frankfurt the pair rose to the occasion and won the Finals with 73.957% in the warm-up round and 73.460% in the classic Grand Prix.

Fürstin Bea's 73% scores in the Louisdor Cup Finals made her one of Poland's big rising stars for the 2024 Olympic year and Polish Grand Prix team selection, but the pair has not shown since Frankfurt 2023.

Where is She Now?

Unfortunately Furstin Bea has been struggling with soundness issues since and for the past two years Stremler and owner Aberth tried everything to get her back on track.

In order to give the mare all the time she needs, Bea spent half a year of 2025 in the field and Beata and Karsten have now decided for for her to have a new outlook on the future.

"We decided to try to breed with her this year," Beata told Eurodressage. "Plans are not worth much, life decides often other ways and we have to accept it. It was very tough two last years for me with lots of bad luck, but that is life."

Furstin Bea is still in light work but in the spring of 2026 she will be bred. "She's always my last horse of the day to ride," Beata said with a big smile. "I really believe she will be an amazing broodmare. We buy all her half sisters and brothers because those horses are all very very special So I believe her genes are really great."

Stremler has multiple offspring out of dam Gran Amour in her barn: Mr Lova Lova, Donatello (by Donier), Donna Bella (by Donier),  a yearling by Furstenball, a two-year old by Expectation PS, and they are awaiting this year's foal by Dante Weltino. They also have two V-Power foals out of daughter Grandosa (by Donier) in the barn. "We have the whole family," Beata smiled. Mr Lova Lova is owned by Aberth and Gregor Richter, while all others are all acquired by Aberth.

When asked which sire they are considering for their breeding plans, Beata said, "we are still thinking about the stallion but at the moment our favourite would be Viva Gold. Two Louisdor Cup winners together."

Beata said that they are not doing embryo transfer. "She shall carry the foal herself."
