Swedish Para Dressage Squad Listed Riders for 2026 Announced

The Swedish equestrian federation has announced the para dressage squad at the start of 2026.

With unprecedented success - four medals - at the 2025 European Para Dressage Championships in Ermelo, Sweden is excited about the new year with the World Para Championships in Aachen as summer highlight.

"Every combination has improved enormously. The other countries have their eyes on us," says Swedish team captain Mette Ubbesen. "If the development continues as it has in the last two years, a lot of fun things will happen. They (the riders) receive feedback very well. They absorb it and practice what needs to be improved. They analyze and then spend time and focus on the right things. They really do their homework and practice."

The first combined training session will take place in February, several new horses are in the stables and the competition plan for 2026 is starting to take shape.

Aachen is hosting a test-event in para-dressage in April and Sweden will participate. "It will be good for the riders and horses to be familiar with the arena and area when it's time for the World Championships. It will be safer when you get there if you know the conditions," said Ubbesen.
