German Olympian Dorothee Schneider has injured her hand in an accident and required surgery. The public presentation of the Famos stallions at the joint stallion show in Vechta is cancelled.

"Unfortunately, I had to have surgery on my hand after an accident," Dorothee explained. "Fortunately, the operation went well and I am already on the road to recovery. Even though I won't be able to ride in the coming weeks, I am very grateful that everything turned out well."

Schneider only very recently left her own farm Gestüt St. Stephan in Framersheim to head the training programme of Maik Kanitzky's stallion yard, Gestüt Famos, in Syke in the north of Germany.

"I try to see the positive side of this: I now have the opportunity to accompany, train, and support my students and my team even more intensively from the ground," said Dorothee. "This is also an important part of my work, which I enjoy very much.
Because anyone who knows me knows that you can't get me out of the stable so easily."

The stallion show scheduled for 28 February in Vechta will continue without the Famos stallions. They will be presented to the public at the Classic-Dressage-Day which Famos will host at the end of April. The exact date is to be confirmed.
