The 2026 Oldenburg Regional Championships with elite mare show and elite foal auction take place in Höven instead of Rastede

From 30 June to 5 July 2026, the Oldenburg Regional Championships will make their debut at the Höven Riding Club, having moved from Rastede to its new location.

Look forward to six days of top-level competition, the best young Oldenburg horses, the Elite Mare Show, an exclusive foal auction, live music, party nights, and a varied family program—all with free admission on every day of the event.

Starting no later than 11 a.m. each day, the exhibitor mile invites visitors to stroll and linger. Numerous exhibitors, culinary offerings, and a large play area with bounce houses for young visitors make the event an experience for the whole family.

The show jumping horses will kick off the sporting events on Tuesday and Wednesday (June 30 and July 1). Starting Thursday, July 2, the dressage horses will then compete for the coveted championship titles.

New Requirements in Line with the Bundeschampionate

There is an important change this year for three-year-old riding horses. The previous second qualifying test has been eliminated. Going forward, the horses will compete in only one riding horse test, which will directly determine the title of Oldenburg State Champion. A separate riding horse final will no longer be held.

The tests for four-year-old dressage horses have also been adapted to the new requirements of the National Championships in Warendorf. Qualification for the final is possible either through riding horse classes No. 18 (mares and geldings) or No. 21 (stallions), or alternatively through Class A dressage horse classes No. 19 (mares and geldings) or No. 22 (stallions). The final competitions on Sunday will be held as Class A dressage horse competitions.

The same rules apply to dressage ponies.

The Supporting Program

On Friday evening, visitors can first look forward to the Youngster Tour final, an exciting S-level show jumping competition with a jump-off*. Immediately afterward, the “Night of Champions – DJ meets Sax” invites everyone to celebrate together.

Saturday is one of the highlights of the event. Following the final competitions for four-, five-, and six-year-old show jumpers, the Oldenburg Elite Mare Show, organized by the Oldenburg Horse Breeders’ Association and the Oldenburg-International Show Jumper Breeders’ Association, begins at 2:00 p.m. During the show, the Oldenburg and OS champion mares will be crowned and presented on the Brillantring. In the evening, the Elite Foal Auction will take place, followed by the traditional Blue-Red Party Night, which will bring the day’s events to a festive close.

On Sunday, the spotlight will finally turn to the dressage champions. The state champions among the three-, four-, five-, and six-year-old Oldenburg dressage horses, as well as the champions among the three- and four-year-old dressage ponies from the Weser-Ems Horse Stud Book, will be determined.

Six days of top-level sport, breeding, shopping, entertainment, and a varied family program—come visit the premiere of the Oldenburg State Championships in Höven. We look forward to seeing you there. Admission is free every day!
