MSJ Benchmark, New Grand Prix Hopeful for Lea Torabi

Danish Under 25 Grand Prix rider Lea Torabi has secured herself a new Grand Prix hopeful in MSJ Benchmark after suddenly losing Jivago de Massa in May.

MSJ Benchmark is a 2016 born Oldenburg by Bordeaux out of Dejavu (by Dacaprio x Glückspilz). He is bred by Emma Blundell at Mount St. John stud in the U.K.

From France to Sweden

The liver chestnut sold as a foal to French Olympian Jessica Michel-Botton, who prepared the colt for the 2018 Oldenburg stallion licensing in Vechta. He was licensed, but sold at auction for a steal for only 20,000 euro.

Danish-Swedish couple Patricia Florin and Bjarke Laustsen of Gunnarlunda purchased the colt and he moved to Sweden, where Jacob Norby Sorensen produced him to Grand Prix level.

He was only lightly competed over the years in Sweden, making his show debut in 2022 in the 6-year old young horse classes. In 2023 he moved up to small tour level. He did one show in 2024 and one in September 2025 at Intermediaire II level but did not complete the test. The horse is yet to make its international show debut.

Lea Torabi

After losing Jivago de Massa in May, Lea Torabi posted an advertisement on Eurodressage announcing her search for a new Grand Prix partner. A match was made with MSJ Benchmark.
