The international equestrian calendar features several major events in Europe: SICAB in Seville for the Purebred Spanish Horse, Golegã for the Lusitano, Verden for the Hanoverian, and Vechta for the Oldenburg. Across the Atlantic, IBERICON has established itself as one of the leading meeting points for the Iberian horse in the United States, hosted at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala.
From October 14–18, 2026, IBERICON will once again bring together breeders, riders, owners, equestrian professionals, and enthusiasts of the Iberian horse. For the second consecutive year, USPRE Week will be part of the event with a joint program of activities aimed at promoting, educating, and strengthening the presence of the Purebred Spanish Horse (P.R.E.) in the United States.
Education and Community
The extensive IBERICON program will offer attendees a wide range of activities connected to sport, education, and equestrian culture. Within this setting, USPRE Week will contribute an important educational and social component, with activities specifically designed for owners, breeders, riders, association members, and lovers of the P.R.E. horse.
The program will begin on Wednesday, October 14, with one of the week's key educational highlights: the Young Horse Clinic with FEI 4* Judge Juan Carlos Campos, which will continue on Thursday, October 15. The renowned international judge will lead both sessions from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Arena 6, in a program jointly organized by USPRE and IBERICON and focused on the analysis, evaluation, and development of young horses.
On Thursday evening, USPRE will present its annual awards during the Gala, recognizing outstanding achievements within the association and the P.R.E. community. The awards honoring animals born in the United States will also be presented during Fiesta Ocala, one of the central highlights of IBERICON. This year, USPRE is honored to welcome the President of ANCCE, Carlos Bohórquez, whose presence will add a special institutional dimension to this celebration of the P.R.E. and its growing presence in the United States.
On Friday, October 16, the educational program will continue with a Master Class by Olympic rider Juan Manuel Muñoz, held in Arena 5. That same day, at 5:00 p.m., the program will move to the Food Court at Arena 5 for the "Trabajo y Tradición" Round Table, bringing together breeders Rafael Peralta Revuelta and Francisco de Rooij for a discussion centered on Andalusian equestrian traditions, the Spanish horse, and the legacy of equestrian culture.
On Saturday, October 17, the day will begin with an event specifically dedicated to the breeding sector. At 8:00 a.m. in Arena 5, the P.R.E. Breeders Round Table will provide a forum to share experiences and discuss some of the main challenges and opportunities facing Purebred Spanish Horse breeding in the United States.
During the lunch break on Saturday, the educational program will continue with a Master Class by national judge Sue Kolsted, offering another opportunity to deepen participants' knowledge and understanding of the horse and its evaluation in dressage.
The day will conclude with one of the social highlights of USPRE Week: the USPRE Cocktail Reception, scheduled for 5:00 p.m. in Arena 5. The gathering will bring together association members and the wider P.R.E. community in a more relaxed setting.
With this continued participation, USPRE Week reaffirms its role as a platform for promotion, education, and connection for the Purebred Spanish Horse in the United States, helping to strengthen the ties between breeders, professionals, and enthusiasts on both sides of the Atlantic.
