Silva Martin Makes a CDI Come Back to Win PSG at 2026 Devon at Devon

One year and a half after last riding up the international centerline, German born American Silva Martin returned to the CDI ring at 2026 Dressage at Devon and claimed victory in the Prix St Georges

Silva Martin scored the winning mark of 70.941% aboard the 8-year old Westfalian mare Farouche (by Foundation x Carpalo). Her polished, expressive ride drew cheers from the afternoon crowd as she exited the Dixon Oval patting her horse with a smile on her face and a wave to the onlooking crowd. Farouche, who is bred by Pascal Kandziora, showed superior uphill balance and elasticity paired with a clear confidence and presence on her way to the class win.

Silva has been riding Farouche, who is nick-named "Lala" for four years. She was discovered in Germany by Silva's sister Laura Stigler in 2022. She sent a video to Silva, who showed it to owner Christine Capano. Martin hopped on a plane to Germany to try her out twice in two days within an 18-hour time frame and was "sold".

"Lala came into this Dressage at Devon undefeated since her first show in the states at four years old. This week, she made her CDI debut," Silva took to Instagram, forgetting that Farouche debuted internationally at the CDI Lexington in May 2025 in the 7-year old division. "Thank you Christine Cpano for supporting us every step of the way."

Canada’s Beatrice Boucher secured second place on Mystery with 69.559%. Mystery, a nine-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare by Indian Rock, demonstrated clarity and consistency in the work, receiving high marks and runner-up honors.

In third, Catherine Malone and Opium SR earned 69.000%. The cremello colored eight-year-old Lusitano gelding by Guardião Do Penedo stood out in the lineup, producing a composed, accurate ride that put the pair firmly in the top three as one of the final competitors to complete their test.

Martin also brought along a second horse, 13-year old KWPN mare Irintha (by Everdale x Tenerife) who was previously shown internationally by Ali Potasky. Owner Kathy Priest sold the mare to Cherye Callegan-Huber in the early spring of 2026 and the ride went to Martin. They were fifth in the Prix St Georges with 67.882%

"Irinithia has only been with us for just over a month, but she’s already settled right in and become a very loved addition to our mare gang," said Silva. "Owned by Cherye and Mike Huber, she finished out a great week on the podium in the Intermediaire I, right behind Farouche."
