Dutch Under 25 team rider Marten Luiten has purchased his own stable in Baars, The Netherlands, where he will be fully committing to his equestrian career as a rider and trainer.
The 24-year old Luiten initially worked out of a yard in Winschoten, training with Monique Peutz. Since December 2024 Luiten rented boxes at Lammert Tel's broodfarm Vledderlanden, a yard previously known as stable Arcadia.
With his business expanding and now reaching almost 20 horses in training and his girlfriend Romy Schaftenaar assisting, the Grand Prix rider was ready for the next step: his own barn.
"You don't do growth alone and that's why I'm also extremely happy and grateful for the fine team of people around me who thought with me and helped with this step," Luiten said in his Instagram post announcing the move to his new yard.
Luiten came through "the system": he was a member of the medal winning Dutch pony, junior, young rider and U25 team. He won individual gold medals as a junior, young rider and this year in the U25 division.
His number one in the barn right now is the 13-year old Westfalian bred Johnny (by Johnson x World Magic). Marten recently obtained the ride on 5-year old Hanoverian licensed stallion Secret USB (by Secret x Spörcken x De Niro).
In 2024 he finished his Masters degree in Business Administration at the University of Groningen before committing fully to horse sport.
