From 15th to 17th January 1999, The International Dressage Trainers Club assembled at the Flyinge National Breeding Centre of Sweden for their bi-annual seminar.
Dr Reiner Klimke proposed three new dressage tests, which he wrote himself, and new rules for the Grand Prix Kur to Music test. Ulla Hakanson and Flyinge Bobby were assigned to demonstrate the new tests. In Flyinge the I.D.T.C. also announced best journalist, trainer and equestrian event of the year.
Karin Tropper of the Swiss magazine Kavallo was the lucky journalist, Chef d'Equipe of the year turned out to be Johan Hinnemann because of the latest successes with Coby van Baalen.
Jumping Amsterdam was claimed to be best indoor competition, while the WEG Rome became the best outdoor show of the year.
