The executive committee of Indoor Brabant can be very satisfied with the amount of visitors that showed up at the Indoor Brabant Horsehow. Thanks to varied and attractive programme, the largest indoor equestrian event in The Netherlands counted 78.000 visitors over four days in both the dressage and the jumping arena.
On Saturday the show received the visit of a special person: Her Majesty Queen Beatrix.
More than half of the dressage participants were Dutch and it was only obvious that they would capture all prizes. Anky van Grunsven excelled throughout the event. Again she confirmed her monopoly among the Dutch riders. Anky scored 69.26% with her newest mount Gestion Joker (Hanoverian by Prince Tatch xx) in the Prix st. Georges and left rising star Sonja Gademan with Olympic Jup (Dutch wb by Democraat) behind her. Isabell Werth rode Ferrarra S (Westphalian by Florestan I) in the PSG - Inter I level and positioned a second and third place with scores of 68.79% and 68.67%
The Grand Prix tests brought no surprises. Anky won the Grand Prix and Kur to Music with her first choice Gestion Bonfire, while Coby van Baalen conquered the Speciale with KWPN Olympic Ferro. The German Equestrian Federation delegated one combination from the A-frame for Indoor Brabant and that was Jurgen Wirths with Souveran (Hanoverian by Salut). Isabell Werth was expected to show up with Nissan Gigolo but she brought three of her reserve horses instead. Woticelli and Giorgio S are both inexperienced Grand Prix mounts which needed more show experience.
Anky van Grunsven can look back with proud on her home competition in 's hertogenbosch, The Netherlands. Year after year Indoor Brabant is her event for more success and fame.
