Birgitt van der Eyken is back in business with a superb stallion named Landioso. In the spring she was already commissioned the position as co-chef d'equipe of the Dutch pony dressage team and only few weeks later she purchased a new Grand Prix horse.
The former European pony champion already gave a peak of her talent on this horse in the stallion show at Gestuet Birkhof in Donzdorf, Germany. Brood farm and stallion station Birkhof, run by the Casper family, sold Landioso to Van der Eyken but is still the only distributor of the stallion's semen
In his younger years Landioso, by Landgraf out of a Calvados II dam, was successful in show jumping, but under Heike Görgens he was focussed on dressage. Now being 13 years old, Landioso won the Prix St. Georges seven times and placed himself several times in the top five in the Grand Prix. Parallel with achievement in sport, Landioso excelled in breeding. His products, which are featured by a top class conformation and solid gaits, launched him as a renowned premium stallion.
Birgitt van der Eijken rode her first big dressage competition with him in Nijmeghen at the 2000 Dutch Dressage Championships.
