Show Jumpers Take Top Prices at 2003 Elite Auction for Westfalian Sporthorses

Price highlight at the 25th Elite Auction for Westfalian Sport Horses and Ponies was for once not a dressage horse, but a show jumping prospect. The bay stallion Balanda, by Rodrigo Pessoa's double World Cup winner Baloubet de Rouet out of an Achill x Libero H dam

, was the highlight of the Munster collection.

The 4-year old show jumper is bred by Ulla von Bormann from Essen and presented for sale by Gestüt Rahmannshof. Balanda achieved a knock down price of 190,000 €.

Second most expensive horse of the 25th Elite Auction was the lovely chestnut gelding Ferris. Sired by Feiner Ludwig out of a Mephistopheles dam, Ferris was bred by Johannes Baumeister from Kranenburg. Presented by Matthias Borkenfeld from Datteln, this talented dressage horse was sold for 100,000 €.

Another attractive prospect was the 3-year old gelding First Time (Fidermark x Acord II). Stallion Stalion Kemper from Borken, Germany, presented this young gelding at the auction and sold him for 60,000 €.

Best selling pony was the dapple grey gelding Ventspils. The 6-year old jumper is by Vivaldi x Croupier and reached a price of 6,200 €. Most expensive foal was the 17,500 € worthy Fleet Street (Furst Piccolo x Sandro Hit).

Several horses were sold abroad. 11 went to Great Britain, 8 to the U.S.A., 2 to Spain, and one to Austria, Luxembourg and Belgium.
