Eighty-six Hanoverian horses were sold at the Equitop auction in the Verden Niedersachsenhalle. They achieved an average auction sales price of 10.991,86 EUR. The highest price was paid for the Weltmeyer/Mondial-son Welcome Sunny W (breeder and exhibitor: Dr. Beate Wojaczek, Wetschen). The little chestnut horse with the tremendous dressage talent was sold at 31.000,- EUR to the United States.
The Hanoverian trademark stallion Weltmeyer is also the sire of the runner-up on this price scale. Willi H by Weltmeyer/Wendenburg (breeder and exhibitor: Guenther Heilshorn, Wulsbuettel) will travel a long way: Australian customers bought the four-year-old youngster at 30.000,- EUR. The last horse of this collection achieved the highest price paid for show jumpers: 26.500,- EUR was the last bid for the Graf Top/Maurice-daughter Gravina who will find her new home in Mexico.
The collection of brood mares was small, but impressive. The six in-foal mares were sold at an average auction sales price of 9.083,33 EUR. The most expensive mare will move to Italy. 16.000,-- EUR was the price paid for state premium mare Daylight by Donnerhall/Rubinstein (breeder: Dr. Frank Nordhausen, Schlieckau – exhibitor: Gerold van Hoorn, Leer-Heisfelde).
Foreign customers were again extremely willing to buy. More than half of the horses will leave Germany. American customers offered the last bid 14 times, six times Italian customers had more staying power, followed by Spain and Sweden (each five horses). It was the first time that a Hanoverian horse was sold to Thailand.
