Donatus Rex, Price Highlight 2006 Vechta Spring Elite Auction

Donatus Rex, a dark bay Don Davidoff x Don Schufro gelding, became the price highlight of the 2006 Spring Elite Auction in Vechta, Germany. The British Aram Gregory purchased the gelding for 120,000 euro.

The second highest price was paid for Duino II, a full brother to Bundeschampion and licensed stallion Duino I. The Finnish Henry Ruoste paid 60,000 euro for the Donnerschwee x Sion offspring. Ruoste trains, who trains with Kyra Kyrklund, also bought Royal Cup (Royal Diamond x Corlando) for 38,500 € and Dressmann (Dressage Royal x Sion) for 18,000 €.

New clients from New Sealand acquired two horses. The licensed stallions Decameron (Donnerhall x Pik Pavarotti) and Don Bon Jovi (Dormello x Anhaltiner) sold for 30,000 and 50,000 euro and will move down under.

Twenty foals were up for auction at the Spring Elite Auction. Price highlight was Salut d'Amour, a Sir Donnerhall x Alabaster colt, who sold for 46,000 euro to Dietmar Knaup. Knaup of the Tenterhof in Ratingen also got Filatow (Fidertanz x Limes) for 16,000 euro.

Belgian stallion owner Angelique Hostyn did some more heavy shopping in Vechta. She purchased the licensed pony stallion Andexer (Anjershof Rocky x Wester Aikema's Robert) for 20,000 euro and her client Mr Rohart acquired Henk (Henry x Balthasar) for 23,000 euro. Three more sport horses move to Belgium: Walloon (Welt Hit II x Vollkorn xx) for 20,000 euro, Fursten Hit (Furst Heinrich x De Niro) for 15,000 euro and Ilona (Royal Diamond x Classiker) for 15,000 euro.

Fifty percent of the horses at the Elite Auction sold abroad. The 56 riding horses sold for 1,434,000 euro in total, achieving an average price of 25,607 euro.
