Munster Price Highlight Rockford Sells for 260,000 euro to New Zealand

The black licensed stallion Rockford became the price highlight of the 2007 Munster Spring Elite Auction of Westfalian sport horses. The 5-year old stallion (by Rubin Royal x Florestan) sold for 260,000 euro to New Zealand.

The black stallion is bred by Wilhelm Bunge and presented at the auction by Americans Bertrand and Elizabeth Page.

The second most expensive horse was Sheraton, a 3-year old bay licensed stallion by Show Star x Pit I. Presented by Italian Aldo Pierucci, the stallion sold for 140.000 € to Bavaria. The third best selling horse was the 4-year old black gelding Simply Clever (by Show Star x Mon Cheri). He sold for 120,000 euro to England.

The top priced pony was the Bundeschampionate medallist Ghost. This black pony stallion by Going Top x Dublin was presented by the British Garry Williams and sold for 40,000 euro.

The best selling foal was Hot Girl, a dark bay filly by Hotline x Red Patrick xx. She sold for 13,500 euro.

The total turnover at the Munster Spring Elite auction was 1,843,600 euro. The average price for a sport horse was 38,747 euro.
