Frank Lamontagne's international Grand Prix horse Duphar has passed away on April 18, 2007. The dark bay gelding suffered from a severe colic attack and could not be saved. He was humanely put down.

The Dutch warmblood gelding Duphar, by Pion x Le Mexico, claimde his biggest international successes in Great Britain. He won his first international Prix St. Georges in Goodwood in 1993 and his first Grand Prix in Addington in 1995.

Duphar spent the last ten years of his retirement in the field at his barn Gestut Domselshof in Kerken, Germany, where he enjoyed the good life.

"I have to be thankful for having had such a horse," Lamontagne told Eurodressage. "He made me what I am today. I worked with him for about 20 years and we had so many beautiful moments."

Duphar was 22 years old.
