The Hanoverian May-Auction on May 5, 2007, finished with mediocre prices for the 68 riding horses auctioned in total. Though Verden called the results "satisfactory", the average auction sales price of 13,091 euro was quite low. "The excellent average auction price results is the result of the price highlight price," auction manager Rainer Kiel said.
The grey stallion Cavalitto by Contendro x Picard (breeder and exhibitor: Cornelia Peters, Moormerland) was the price highlight and sold for 34,000 euro on the phone to Spain. Like at the last 116th Elite Auction, jumper stallion Contendro is the sire of the most expensive horse.
Donnas Glück by Don Bosco/Glückspilz (breeder and exhibitor: Hans-Heinrich Schmidt, Hänigsen) was the top-priced dressage horse. Dutch customers paid 32,000 euro for the mare.
Most Hanoverian horses were sold at prices between 8,000 and 15,000 euro. The export rate was exceptionally high: 43 horses will leave Germany (63%). The biggest foreign buyer was Sweden (10 horses), followed by the United States and Great Britain (each seven horses). Two Hanoverian horses will travel to Chile.
