The Oldenburg licensed stallion D-Day has been sold to Denmark. For years, the 15-year old Donnerschwee x Welt As offspring was stationed at De Ijzeren Man in Weert, The Netherlands,
but interest in the stallion had faded and he only bred to two mares in 2006. Owned by Stal Bolderman in Elst, The Netherlands, D-Day will now stand at stud in Denmark and will also be used as a sport horse.
D-Day was licensed for the Oldenburg Verband in 1996 and won the dressage division of the Stallion Performance Test in Neustadt-Dosse, Germany. He was approved for the Dutch warmblood society and for the Swedish Warmblood society, standing at stud in Sweden for several years.
His most famous offspring all carry the Swedish Warmblood brand. In the United States, Melissa Taylor's Swedish bred Dacardo (D-Day x Calypso I) is successfully competing at international small tour level under the Danish Lars Petersen.
