The Academic Riding Club of Bonn (ARC) is getting ready for the European Youngster Classics 2008. The second international Horseshow for the youth organized by this club will take place at the show ground in Bonn-Hardtberg, Germany starting May 30th to June 1st.
The General Conditions had been sent to twelve national federations in Europe. Trainer Wolfgang Winkelhues and his wife Gaby (parents of Katharina Winkelhues, who already earned some victories in Junior und Pony European Championships) will give their experience to the show as well as Heidi van Thiel, who already visited a lot of shows as German pony riders Chef d’Equipe. The two competition arenas are going to be prepared by Daniel Barton, Luxemburg, who also takes care of the show grounds in many other famous locations all over the world.
"We invited the best pony, junior and young riders from Belgium, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Italy, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland," says ARC president and managing director of the show, Uwe Spenlen. “These are all young people who represent their countries in European Championships. This will guarantee for quality and international flair.”
Also Bonn is looking forward to a visit of the dressage committee of the United States Equestrian Team. They want to take an educational trip to the show. The delegation from the US will first screen the show and the training facilities nearby in order to check whether they will send some riders next year..
There are no changes in the schedule expected compared to last year. On Friday we will have the first rounds in the Nations Cup before the teams will give a presentation of their country in the evening. On Saturday the Final Rounds in the Nations Cup will take place. On Sunday afternoon spectators will be able to see the best pony riders, juniors and young riders in a free style program. Doris Plate
