Belgian FEI rider Julie de Deken has acquired the 6-year old Baden Wurttemberger bred stallion Mr Touchdown to strengthen her string of high quality dressage horses. Trained by Tineke Bartels, De Deken plays with the idea to qualify her new black stallion for the 2010 Bundeschampionate.
Bred by Hugo Matthaes, Mr Touchdown is by Tullamore out of Divara (by Donnerhall x Merano). He became a premium stallion at the 2007 South German Stallion Licensing in Munich. Under his previous owner, Pferd 24 ceo Nadine Plaster, the stallion became reserve champion at the Baden Wurttemberger regional championships in Tubingen.
As a 5-year old he qualified for the 2008 Bundeschampionate but did not compete in Warendorf at the Finals. This 2010 season, Hartwig Burfeind introduced Mr Touchdown to M level tests. At the regional show in Harsefeld on 17 April, the pair scored 7.6 and finished sixth.
Mr Touchdown will be a third addition to De Deken's FEI collection. She is making the transition to Grand Prix level with her 12-year old Westfalian gelding Fazzino (by Florestan x Rivellino xx) with which she won a national Intermediaire II class last weekend in Zandhoven scoring 68,85%. She will ride her second horse Lucky Dance (by Lucky Lionell x Placido Sun) at the CDI Munich on 14 - 16 May 2010.
Julie de Deken is a member of the Belgian VLP Talent Team for 2010. (see video as of 5:55)
