Quateron became the best selling foal at the 2010 Oldenburg Foal Auction in Vechta on 28 August 2010. The Quaterback offspring out of Urania (by Stedinger) is bred by Aloys and Christian Hinxlage and sold for 55,000 euro to Spain.
Auction manager Thomas Rhinow commented that "our good co-operation at seminars and visits in Madrid are turning out to be profitable for Oldenburg breeders are Foal Auctions."
Eighty-nine foals were sold at auction and achieved an average knock down price of 8,445 euro. The best selling show jumping foal was Montgomery (by Monte Bellini x Cornet Obolensky). He sold for 21,000 euro.
Colts always achieve higher prices than fillies. The colt Seventh Sky (by Sir Donnerhall x Dormello) sold for 27,000 euro to a German dressage fan. Servus (by Sir Donnerhall x De Niro) moves to Denmark for 23,000 euro. Schwarzkunstler (by Sir Donnerhall x Don Gregory) sold for 20,000 euro to Sweden.
The most expensive filly was Finale (by Fidertanz x Sandro Hit), acquired by Stable Hinrichs for 18,000 euro.
