Dundee Achieves Top Knock Down Price at 2010 Verden Autumn Elite Auction

The black Hanoverian dressage prospect Dundee achieved the top knock down price of 320,000 euro at the 2010 Hanoverian Autumn Elite Auction in Verden, Germany, on 10 October 2010.

Bred by Jurgen Hake and presented at auction by Heinrich Giesselmann, Dundee is a Don Frederixo x Falkland offspring. After a tough bidding duel with Frenchman Xavier Marie from Haras de Hus, the Hanoverian sold to Verena Maria-Hinze from Bavaria, Germany. Hinze also purchased Domenikus (by Don Marco x Rosentau - 70,000 euro) and Donna Karan (by Don Frederico x Rohdiamant - 35,000 euro).

Five horses sold for more than 100,000 euro, eight were acquired for more than 50,000 euro. Most expensive show jumper was the mare Saphir (by Stolzenberg x Graf Grannus). An Austrian buyer paid 105,000 euro for her.

The catalog number 1, Look alike (by Likoto xx x Lastro) sold for 150,000 euro to France. The 3-year old stallion Darlington (by Don Frederico x Weltruhm) sold for 175,000 to Mrs. Candrian in Switzerland. The black mare Showtime B (by Sandro Hit x Hohenstein) sold for 125,000 euro and will stay in the Lower Saxon area.

Fifty-one foals were sold at auction the the price highlight was the colt Bennett (by Bentley x De NIro). Bred by Reinhard Wils, this colt sold to an Austrian stallion owner for 50,000 euro.

Eighty-six horses were sold at the Verden Autumn Elite Auction and they achieved an average price of 35,500 euro. The average price for a foal was 6,954 euro.
