Brigitte Wittig's Grand Prix horse Charatan W has been euthanized on Tuesday 2 November 2010 following complications due to stomach problems. The home bred dark bay stallion suffered from a circulatory collapse and regrettably had to be put down.
Charatan W was a 13-year old Oldenburg branded stallion by Consul x Bismark, bred, raised and trained by Wolfram and Brigitte Wittig. The combination finished fourth in the 2005 Nurnberg Burgpokal Finals in Frankfurt.
The pair had its busiest show season in 2007 competing at the CDI-W Odense, CDIO Rotterdam, CDI Hagen and CDI Verden. That same year they also qualified for the Medien Cup Finals for Upcoming Grand Prix horses held in Paderborn. In 2009 they started in Hagen and Lingen.
