the 2011 World Dressage Masters will not be held this year at the 2011 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida. Due to scheduling conflicts, many of the world's top ranked dressage riders are unable to travel to Florida to compete.
The World Dressage Masters are a five-star dressage competition and has been held with great success at WEF for the past two years.
"We took the difficult decision to cancel this year's World Dressage Masters, as we were unable to guarantee the participation of the top European riders that had always made the event so successful in the past," said Michael Stone. "There are significant costs involved in staging the event, and without the stars participating, we couldn't guarantee a sufficient number of spectators to make the event feasible."
