The 2011 Hanoverian Auction Year started with a winter auction on 21 and 22 January 2011 at which the show jumping mare Albany (by Adlantico As x Contender) became the price highlight. The 4-year old chestnut mare sold for 40,000 euro to Russia.
This Russian buyer, who purchased his horses over the phone, acquired six horses in total. Albany will stay in Verden to be prepared for international show jumping competitions.
The best selling dressage horse was Edelhard Lampe's 3-year old dark bay gelding Riesling. The Rascalino x De Niro offspring sold for 33,000 euro to an Italian customer. The bay mare Hotmail (by Hotline x Rubinstein I x Alabaster) achieved a knock down price of 32,000 euro and moves to the Rhineland arear. Sternenglanz (by Sandro Hit x Weltmeyer x Abhang III) sold for 30,500 euro while Summersby (by Sandro Hit x Donnerhall x Fruhwind) switched owners for 29,000 euro.
The average price for a Hanoverian sport horse at this auction was 15,284 euro. 82 horses sold in total, 41 will remain in Germany and 41 move abroad.
