Rock Steady Top Selling Horse at 2011 Hanoverian Mai Auction in Verden

Rock Steady was the top selling horse at the 2011 Mai auction of Hanoverian Sport horses in Verden, Germany, on 29 - 30 April 2011. The 4-year old Rascalino x Sandro offspring, bred by Heiner Sudowe, sold for 51,000 euro to France.

The best selling show jumper was the 4-year old mare Clara Juana (by Count Grannus x Don Juan) which sold for 20,000 euro.

Young dressage horses attracted the most paying buyers at this auction. The 4-year old mare Rosegarden (by Riccione x Weltmeyer) sold for 38,000 to Switzerland and was the second most expensive horse of this auction. Scandinavian buyers were well represented in Verden. The 4-year old black gelding Saphir (by Sir Savoy x Wolkenstein II) sold for 33,000 euro to Denmark, while the 4-year old bay gelding Ludwig von Walle (by Londontome x Maurice) sold for 30,000 euro to Finland. The same price was paid for Dimitri, a 4-year old grey gelding by Danone I x Inselfurst, which moves to a stable in North Rhine/Westfalia.

The average price for a horse at this May auction was 11,098 euro. Ninety-nine horses in total were sold and 32 of them move abroad.
