Discovery, Best Seller at the 2011 Alsfeld Winter Auction

The 3-year old Hanoverian gelding Discovery became the best selling horse at the third Alsfelder winter auction of Hanoverian sport horses in Alsfeld on 3 December 2011.

Bred and owned by Gustav Breding, the dark bay gelding by Dancier x Raphael x Lehrsherr x Der Lowe xxx sol for 50,000 euro to a Lower Saxon dressage barn.

The second most expensive horse was the 4-year old mare Havanna (by Hochadel x Rodgau) which sold for 48,000 to Bavaria. The 6-year old gelding Fine Time (by Jazz Time x Brentano II) sold for 42,000 to Saxony-Anhalt.

The most expensive show jumper was the 7-year old M-level trained Crazy Chicken (Chico's Boy x Crazy Classic). He sold for 23,000 euro to South Germany.

Forty-five horses were sold at this auction and 11 move abroad: three to France, two to Canada and Portugal. The average price for a horse at this auction was about 14,000 euro.
