Dressage Ireland announced on 13 February 2013 that Anne Cahill is the new chairman. Anne was appointed at a board meeting on 12 February. Cahill is replacing Robert McCormick who resigned in November 2012.
Her first involvement with dressage was over twenty years ago when helping to organise the Eventing Ireland Blarney One Day Event. For nearly a decade from 1996 she helped run the Blarney Dressage Festival which saw teams travel from England to compete against Irish riders at under-21 level, a real innovation for the sport in Ireland at that time. Anne has been secretary of the South Munster Region since 2000 and was appointed vice-chairman of Dressage Ireland in 2008.
She was appointed to the board of Horse Sport Ireland at the end of last year. Anne is an anaesthetist. In 1981 she moved with her husband from England to Dublin. She has been living in Cork for the last 29 years.
