The Baden Wurttemberger licensed breeding stallion Gardez has passed away. The black high performance dressage horse producing Gardez was 26 years old.
The statuesque Gardez was bred and owned by the Marbach State Stud. He was by Ganymed out of Herzblatt (by Herzbube x Golddollar x Halef ox).
He was licensed at the 1992 Brandburg stallion licensing and became the winner of the 1993 Marbach Stallion Performance Testing with a score of 139.35 points. The black was successful up to S-level. He was competed by three different riders, starting with Hubert Mang in the riding horse tests and followed by Helmut Hartmann and finally with Irina Oberthür at M and S-level. He did his last show in July 2006 at the regional event in Fronhofen.
Gardez sired 4 licensed sons -- Gachino, Galmano, Gardekorps and Gargallo -- and 10 state premium mares.
Gardez's most successful offspring is the Canadian 2008 Olympic team horse Gachino (Christilot Boylen-Hanson) and the Austrian Young Riders team horse Gino (Lea Elisabeth Pointinger)
